Saw this before last year I think. Not impressed tbh. Can't tell its original spec from those pics, but if it originally had the 8v DOHC, would've been more impressed with a T25 stuck to it. Why ruin a perfectly good Sierra with a Nissan engine? There's nothing inherently wrong with Nissan engines, just don't see the point sticking them in a Ford, unless you're starring in a DIY version of Tokyo Drift.

WTF
Why the fuck would a shitbox engine with a T25 stuck on it pushing out 200bhp tops then blowing up be more impressive than actually putting in a powerful reliable engine instead?
And whats Tokyo Drift got to do with anything
Only bad thing about that Sierra is its 5dr looks and its suspension, both the original design.

If he just fits the 200sx shell and suspension too now, it will be a cool car

Just nod and agree otherwise we'll be here all night trying to explain why an RB20 is better than a DOHC I4 with a low-blow T25 conversion.....

Tokyo Drift - Mustang powered by a Nissan engine...Ford made the Mustang, hence, Nissan engined Ford.
I'm not a fan of Jap engines, OK, Subarus I like, but in general, they don't float my boat, so you'll excuse me if I'm not enthused by a 200sx engine in my favourite Ford. I don't doubt their ability, they just don't give me a woody.

It would be more impressive because the I4 is an uncommon engine, that for one, belongs in the car anyway. It's also an engine that's underrated IMO, and quite difficult to get high performance parts for. That's why it would be impressive.

'Better' is subjective and a matter of opinion I only said I'd be more impressed with an I4 - I never said it was better or worse. In fact I said that there's nothing inherently wrong with a Nissan engine.

there was a guy at a capri show with an astra red top under his bonnet a few years ago and, rather than say "what are you doing with that good engine in a shit motor" everyone was happy that there was something different going on
same here, everyone is hating the fact that he's put an engine into a "shit sierra" wihtout saying "well done for doing something different, i wonder what else he had to change to make it all fit" etc etc
but then agian, i do see the point of those who say "what a waste" but if he wants to do it then let him do it, it's not like he's kicking you in the bollcosk to make it work for him is it

Thats not a skyline turbo either, though he says it is.
Cool as fuck tho, jus sounds like he dont know what he's got.
Much bigger than a Skyline turbo, big external gate, different ex' manifold, etc etc

Im not sure why, wasnt because he crashed an SX, as would be a seriously handling downgrade going to a sierra.
Seemed a little odd to me, but when he can do all the fab work himself, knocking up engine mounts isnt hard.
The whole car was done from a standard Sierra shitbox.
Reasons I can think of is much cheaper to buy a good one, and at lower levels of power anyhow- much more reliable.
Not loads lighter.
