Im not sure why, wasnt because he crashed an SX, as would be a seriously handling downgrade going to a sierra.
Seemed a little odd to me, but when he can do all the fab work himself, knocking up engine mounts isnt hard.
The whole car was done from a standard Sierra shitbox.
Reasons I can think of is much cheaper to buy a good one, and at lower levels of power anyhow- much more reliable.
Not loads lighter.

so stick it in another 200sx then, you wouldnt put your YB engine into a 200sx shell because you crashed your Sapph

You would if you wanted to put a YB into something that actually handled.

although thats true... you still wouldnt, you'd just tune the 200sx instead and sell the Sapph parts to help some other ford bloke mend his taxi

A 2J is WELL over a foot longer mate. So not really.
Can put anything anywhere if want, but a 2J wouldnt jus pop in no bother.

Not really, I almost bought a complete car minus it's engine for a few hundred quid, it was an auto though.

Cool if somewhat pointless project, bet it doesnt drive as well as a 200sx would have done.
If you have a sierra hardon though it makes sense, the SR20 lump is just SO much better value than a YB!

He told everyone it had about 900bhp though
But strangely enough, would never use it on the strip....

it could well have had 900 brake
but bolted to an mt75 it would have probably lasted all over about 30 yrads before turning into a millions bits of shrapnel
so he was doing everyone a favour by saving their lives not running it up the strip

Why would he run a Ford box when the 300ZX box is massivley strong and would bolt straight up?
