What events has ELE been too?
Think I have seen it doing a top speed run once in one of the mags and I think it did 175 which is not great for a car of that spec. So its defo NOT one of the top hitters.
As far as I knew it has spent massive amount of time over the years off the road, so it has hardly had time to break has it?

It was generally thought that ELE held the RWD record (178.4MPH) when I first started this Cosworth lark, but the Turbosystems car had gone quicker I believe. ELE was totally outpaced by the likes of MikeR, Bruce Reid & Keven Sharp when they challenged his record, I was there when he was made to look silly by the pace of Mikes & Bruces car. A nice car but deffo not fast or a big hitter. It had its place 10years ago.

AGs car is a track car,i honestly dont think they did anything special,they used techniques that have been available for years and used an engine thats nothing spectacular.
simple really,spaceframe chassis have been around for a long time and so have the cosworth YB engines,AG himself might be a mighty driving god but that doesnt make his car any better in my eyes.
whereas a forum for fast road cars really should be looking at the road car scene for inspiration,cars that perform well time after time as a road car and dont explode

he is using the technology thats availible for that vehicle and very well at that.ag's car is awesome.and if you are saying its not, then surely imo it is a great feat being able to get these engines up there with more modern technology that should be leagues ahead.
the yb is a superb bit of kit no matter what its in.
as for my top car.it depends on the disapline. martins car has always been up there for me.can be used on road and does so,
but mike rainbirds is the best all rounder. great on track,has all its seats,superb condition irrelevent of its use and powerful too.

Im one of the lucky ones I suppose, I can afford to build what is IMO the best car on here cos to me its all about speed, I fully except that everyone else may/can think its a 19 year old pile of shite.
Still I will give my opinion on what I consider the best of the rest.
Road car - MADAdes car - near 700bhp & still looks, drives & is as quiet as a normal Cossie, shook me as mine has far more compromises.
Track Car - dont consider the Track Day 'you cant overtake here mate' brigade as true track cars so I guess its between cars that enter competative races Steve Scotts Escort, the AG Focus or Kev Atkins EVO.
Older rs - The Mk1 that came through Marks recently IMO the best car ive seen in a very long time & one of very few that I would be tempted to buy.
