Default V8 LPG conversions on newer cars

About to do the sums on LPG for something like an X5 4.4 and wondered if anyone had experience of conversions on a newer type engine??

Do they take the conversion well?

thanks

when i used to work at a main dealer we had the mitsubity outlander come from the factory fitted with lpg after about 20000 miles they seemed to burn the exaust valves out?? it was only ever the ones with lpg fitted as well and we were not the only dealer having the problem. so they stoped fitting them lol hope this helps at all?

i bought a 2005 x5 4.4 sport a couple of weeks ago,it had just been converted to gas and apart from a slightly lumpy idle when on gas i dont feel any performance difference from petrol to gas, very quick for a big car, i love it

If done correctly will be every bit as good on gas as petrol, burnt exhaust valves can occur on some, due to them being shit materials in the first place, just use flashlube. adds about 2p a mile cost and is a bottle that connects simply by a tube to inlety and protects the valves perfectly, aussies been using it for well over 10 years.
The best bit oif adivice is get the best system you can afford, I have used a few and my fave is TARTARINI TECH 97, old but a goody, had this on my xr4i as well, with 110 litre tank, was better on lpg than petrol, maybe due to head design(siamese port).
