Default Turbo power/trq Vs N/A power/trq

Lets say for example...

2 engines in exactly the same car (car/weight/tyres/suspension/gear ratios etc)

One engine N/A producing 200bhp/200lbft
One engine Turbocharged producing 200bhp/200lbft

I know the power delivery would be different but Would the cars be identical in performance?

If not, why?

Cheers

Not necessarily (or even likely, imo) as it depends where the power and torque is made in the rev' range. 200/200 are just peak figures and don't reveal much...

I'm pretty sure the N/A would be quicker high up. I know Gary's ST220 was a little quicker than a focus RS in third and up.

I suppose if gearing allowed each to be at peak power/torque throughout each gear.
NA would have torque later but not any wait for boost.
Lots to it but more or less the same in most cases I'd imagine.

You arent asking a question that makes any sense.

For a start why isnt the turbo engine making more power, is it a smaller engine? If so surely it would be lighter.

You'd need the whole curve to make any really meaningful diagnosis though.

Considering your talking 2 different cars of different weights and different sized engines and different gearing, that tells you, exactly... nothing.

These threads are so irratating...you may as well just ask, two cars, completely different, one's blue, which is quicker?

You've given roughly the same amount of information....

why? from what we've been given, its hard to say.

infact id doubt it, as for an n/a to be 200/200 something has to be properly restrictive, almost deffo a engine with a piss poor small powerband if it managed to have the same torque as power.

wheras a turbo with 200/200 is likely to have a decent powerband.
