thanks jim
to explain i need some advice about going to london, as me and the wife are going
but its a surprise for her birthday so i dont want her to know till were on our way. and she has a habit of looking at the comp while im on it and she will notice a thread started by me
i was going to drive up but after looking at all the costs its going to be alot cheaper to get the train.
right first one is i was just speaking to a mate who has recently been to london on the train and he said he got a book with a load of vouchers for discounts 2 for 1 into events with then being things like madame tussauds thats a massive saving of £30.
ive looked on the website for the rail and i can see the offer but its all vouchers you have to book and i would rather just get the same book that he got and then she can decide what she want to do , will i deff be able to get one of these from the staition ???
the next thing is tube travel
whats the best way to book the tube/ buses id like to be able to use buses and the tube but got very confused very fast as there is differnt choses for the tube
r1 r12 r134 ETC ETC
so im a little lost
whats the best way to travel around ???
just as an idea the things i think she will want to do is the normal.
madametussauds
london dungeons
the eye
and that sort of thing

ok, these 1234 things... look at a tube map (www.tfl.gov.uk) the zones are on there. the further away you get from central london you enter a higher numbered zone.
so if you wanted to just move around central london you only need a zone 1 travelcard.
if you wanted to go from way where i am, bromley to the city. you'd want a zone 1-5 travelcard.
off-peak travelcards are normally all-zones so bascially, just buy an all zone travelcard, job done.
these work on busses, trains, tube, and tram

Buy your tube ticket the same time you buy your rail ticket, makes it alot more straight forward, then all you gotta do is figure out getting on the tube the right direction..lol

surely a 1 day travel card would be easier ? I'm sure they are about £6/7 each but enable you to get on/off the tube, train or buses.

Fuck's sake man, use the force. ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
I do, it's definately the most entertaining method of getting around London. I once met that fat bird from Eastenders doing that. Natalie someone or other. Had fake tits....
Anyways. Ignore the maps. Use the force.

When we went we traveled there by train then used the tube to get to the hotel. That was the only time we used the tube! Used busses after that as the tube baffeled us! Done the Dirty dancing show, London eye and madam T's. Was a great couple of days but take lots of money! And we pre-booked everything, it saved queing

right back again
ive been trying to find as much 2 for 1 as possible ( no point paying more if money off is to be had !!)
now i have found quite a few 2 for 1 with my rail tickets
but i have also found one for the london eye
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/microsites/oys...s/baLondonEye/
but you need a valid oyster card with travel for that day
would i be right in guessing that a oyster card and travel for the day will be cheap enough to get that it will save us more than the £25 for the extra person ??
could i use a oyster card for travle instead of a off peak travel card
thanks everyone
