Default Bit of a dilema.......My own stupid fault

Right peeps......What do you think to this.

I have a P Plate Audi A4 and the steering wheel was a little worn on the top, and it was the plain black style one. So i went on E-Bay and got myself the newer looking one with the chrome rings in the middle of it. Also has the airbag in it like the OE one does so thats all good.

NOW

I went to fit the new one yesterday...........This is where the trouble started

Disconnected the battery ect to de-activate the airbag.
Then started removing the standard wheel........ Now while removing it i broke a couple of wires and i thought not to worry i will sort it when the new wheel goes on. THEN this coiled up reel sprung apart

But as the new wheel was going on i thought not to worry!!!!!!!!!!!

HOWEVER......
Once the OE wheel was off i went to fit the new one that was taken off an R Plate Audi A4..............But the spline that holds the wheel on was smaller.......SO ITS A NO GOER!!!!!!!

Tried to refit the OE wheel back on without the rolled up coil......which i did.

Now i have the OE wheel back on.....BUT

The airbag light is on so it must of been one of the wires that snapped...

And i have no horn......that must of been the coil

NOW do i to the very imbarresing thing and take it to the local VW/Audi specalists and explain what i have done and see if they can sort it.......

OR

Live with no Airbag or horn............And i am someone who NEEDS a horn

You need at least one of the above, the airbag providing last-minute backup for when the other twat doesnt hear your horn.

Having both dead leaves you totally exposed.

you also need an airbag for the mot. I would try not to be such a ham fisted cunt in future, and source a replacement wheel that actually fits

Take the bulb out of the airbag light. Its not like they'll test its operation at the MOT.

As for the horn, all you need is some kind of audible warning.
Tie wrap one of these bad boys to your a post and leave the window open.

How do you loose a car thats both large and the same colour as a banana?

Giving stuff to ex's is always good. If shes anything like mine I'd replace the brake fluid with piss and keep 12 of the wheelnuts.

Thats a great idea, you should also have some time to rig up the airbag where it shoots out nails or a big piston ...sorts the rest of the settlement out for you.

if there is an airbag fitted then the warming light must come on and go out with the self check malarkey afaik.

of course id never recommend bridging the lamp with the TC, abs or anything else that self checks at the same time

if it's a little led, just take the unit apart and cover it with some tape

but don't snap it out as you will have to get a new dash
