Default Bhp Figure????!!!

Had my engine mapped by Simon Norris of Norris Designs on the engine dyno today at long last....anyone fancy havin a guess on what power figures they think it should have made based on the spec below:
8.8:1 c/r
28/25mm ported head, standard valves
Standard exhaust cam/custom grind inlet cam
4x4 exhaust manifold
Swedish inlet plenum
Evo injectors in modified fuel rail, 560cc
Turbo Dynamics hybrid T35/0.63 exhaust housing
Omex management

Boost peaking 2.1 bar, holding 1.7 bar at 6870 rpm
Get the graphs tomorrow and will post them up.
Suffice to say i was well happy with the results, can't wait to get it back in the car now!!

400/400 ish.

But id expect its not peak numbers that make the car good, its the general powerband and response.

You're bang on with the bhp figure lol.....442bhp/401ft pounds of torque!!! Could have made more torque with a bigger boost spike but in sympathy to the gearbox we held it back!

The one you got off nick isn't the same as the one i'm using, pobably slightly smaller, the one i'm using is custom built by turbo dynamics based on a T35.

Lol yres the trouble was it never stayed together for very long, i'm goona be using it as a daily driver so need to be able to drive it without the gearbox or diffs falling out lol
Incidently for the daily run i'm going to run low boost of 1.2 bar at which the engine made 347bhp.

Matt Yes

Spence, Why did you use the 4x4 exhaust manifold surely a 2wd one would have given more power??

I used the 4wd manifold for ease, and seeing as i only wanted 400bhp anyway, and i wanted to keep the torque down to save the gearbox. Sholudn't be too bad on fuel as it's been mapped to run lambda 1 on cruise.

Did you limit the boost at ~3250rpm for surge or any other reason?

Any particular reason you wanted such a high compression engine? I've seen low compression (~7.5:1) engines on T4's pulling almost 400 ft-lb at 3500rpm!

Low comp are inherently laggy also off boost it will be far nicer to drive plus the fact Simon would not let me have low comp engine as he does not think there nice to drive.

low comp is certainly horrible off boost!

if youd have gone 3.5bar boost spike both my figures would have been correct..lol
