Default phone contract-is there a way out?

Ive had a crap signal from orange for the last 12 months or so,i have complained about this 4 times aswell over the last year.

In and around my house i cant get any signal or service whats so ever, connections get dropped if i get a phone call to my moblie aswell.

Orange have told me today that the only way out is for me to buy out of the contract, but i really dont want to give them £180 when its them not giving me an adequate service.

So is there a way out?

steve.

However long are you in contract for??!!

Surely it can't have been any more than 18 months? If so, you only have 6 months left max. If so, drop the tariff right down and put it down to experience. It's not worth the bother.

Go through the contract with a fine toothed comb. If there's anything they've promised which isn't happening then you can write to them and cancel the contract due to 'breach of contract'. But for a bad signal that's your lookout, and isn't a contractual obligation on their behalf.

Also if you've already been with then for 12 months then I presume you're on an 18 month contract, so cancel it then.

theres not much u can do. as said if you can go to lowest tarriff and either dont use it anymore or keep in your free minutes....or sadly buy yourself out.

Result!!!

Just had a phone call from Orange (on my landline) they are dropping my tarrif down from £35 to £25 a month for now then on the 1st September "Pete" will phone me back to give me my PAC code and diconect me for the last 6 month, free!!!

because when the guys in the orange shop checked my post code for connectivity all was good but since July last year ive had to complain time after time about the lack of signal, today im told that my post code is a KNOWN area for bad connections on Orange!!!

Anything to get your business maybe..i dunno.

So now i dont know wether to have a new contract with o2, as i know they are ok as my last contract was on o2 or just have a sim card to put in my phone, again on o2 they do "simplicity" sim cards where you have texts and minutes for say £15 onwards.

Would love to know if there is a way we can look at that sort of info.

Orange used to be very very good around where i live but for about a year now they have progressively got worse.

Is your phone a 3G phone ? If so you can possibly improve the signal by simply changing your phone settings (i know its an outside chance but i had signal probs and changed settings and all now ok)

Phone is a 3g infact its a N95, i did try playing with the settings as it was suggested by an Orange tech guy last year, but it didnt help.
