Having a child or baby in the car, just warning you to be considerate rather than acting like a dick!

You got no kids then lol

Default baby on board

probably one of the funniest things I ever heard ben elton come out with was about a baby on board.

he said he wanted one that read "personally I've not been blessed with children but I would still prefer not to be killed in a car accident thank you"

I still think thats funny

Its incase the car crashes and the fire crew are there, if they see that sign it means there is a baby in the car and not just the owner of the vehicle, you are only meant to have the sign in your car if you have a baby in the car, save the fire crew wasting time looking for a baby that isn't there

Its a special part of the ECU that tells the fire brigade that there was a baby on board in an accident so you don't need a sign.....

adds functionality to the ECU such as water injection or ALS, they also allow you to use things such as Pectel Monitors

iirc, part of the pectel boards job is to de code the encrypted software on the chip.
its encrypted so people cant steal the software....

stu uses a little encryption board for the same purpose.

LOL, so much help here

Ok, there are several types of "baby board" but they fall into 2 catagories....

1) ORIGINAL WEBER BOARD
This was added on the standard ECU by the manyfacturers of the L8.
Effecively, it adds extra RAM (random acces memory) and allows a larger size EPROM
(Erasable Programable Read Only Memory... AKA "CHIP" LOL)
Obviously they designed the ecu for another use/car or they fucked up and needed a tad more memory to make it work properly. LOL

2) ENCRYPTION
Mainly as item 1 above but adds security features to make the chip program harder to copy or modify. (not impossible for those who are clued up).
Many different manufacturers here but the main ones are Pectel, Collins, MSD etc...
On some pectel versions, extra drivers for 4 more injectors are added.

Hope that helps
