Default Bonnet lifters and under trays

Has anyone ever done any proper testing to see if the lifters work?

I was always on the understanding that they didn't as the mucked up the airflow through the front of the cars, hence why the back off the bonnets are sealed not to let air out and also the removal of under trays can effect airflow aswell?

I know no ones had a Escort Turbo in a wind tunnel to check this but would be interesting to see whats what

Wouldn't the airflow over the open/raised edge of the bonnet "draw" air outwards?

In the same way as bonnet vents work?

the theory is as the air goes over the bonnet it creates a low pressure zone drawing hot air out of the engine bay, not sure if its ever been proven though??

Just use a decent rad/intercooler and remove the panel at the back, below the scuttle.

This way any air is forced/sucked through the scuttle grill.

Dont use lifters Paul or il come and give you a bloody good hiding!
