when did speed cameras start getting you going towards them on other side of road ?
got flashed on thursday night b*st*rd things it also got a couple of mates too on same night , we all thought we had imagined it , i have gone through alot faster the same way and never been flashed b4 ? i always thought they couldn't get you ?

anyway it has since been set on fire , not me by the way , i'd end up setting myself on fire i'm that clumsy

will i still get points as it was burnt out by the next afternoon when i drove past ?

Do they not require the marks on the floor to prove the speed you were going? If not you could argue that the camera was not calibrated.

not had ticket yet ,guess i'l know next week for sure , was only doin 40 in 30 never been flased before even at double the limit , unless i've just been lucky for ten years and none of them have been live .

startin to get on my tits , if i carry on at this rate gettin points i'l have to start beein nice to the missus so she can take some off me , annoyin thing is its only ever in my company car i get done .

part of my reason for posting incase other people thought the same , it could only of been me too no cars goin the other way .

They flash u coming the other way but u will never hear anything about it. I set off 3 of them in Edinburgh every journey into the city centre. As long as they are facing you, you wont hear anything about it.

The best fun is if someone is going the CORRECT way and is within the whitelines when u set it off going the other way - they crap it and think they were speeding

Was it a Gatso?

If so they will flash if you speed towards them but nothing will come of it!!!

If its a Truvelo your stuffed (they take pictures of the front but dont flash).

They do flash, but the flash they use is infa-red, and therefore due to the wavelength of infa-red, the human eye cannot see it

theres a speed camera near me on a section of dual carrigway and it faces you and does flash,i saw an ambuance get flashed the other night

i seen a truvelo go off the other day in southampton, near the interlink depo i go to.

that thing flashed a bright blue flash as i could see spots after lol.

and no, it wasnt me that was speeding.

i saw the flash quite bright and i was about 300 yards behind the ambulance

they flash but as its set for ANOTHER direction nothing will come of it

happened to me LOADS of times and some dodgy speeds and also on the wrong side of the road towards it and ive STILL got a clean licence !!!!

if its a GATSO they take pics from BEHIND the car, so therefore if you are driving TOWARDS a GATSO and it goes off, you will NOT be prosicuted

You will not get anythin through the door if your driving in the oposite direction.

i used to work as a take away driver and there was a gatso right beside it and it used to flash me in oposite direction at least 10 times a night, 3 nights a week for 4 years and i never once recieved a ticket.

i wouldnt even give it a seconds thought mate, you wont recieve anything

Some newer cameras has an ADSL link to the police's database, so no film needed - it's all digital.

So if it was set on fire, they still get the stills from their computers!

the common misconception about speed cameras, is that they have a "film"..
the save all the pics to a HD which is buried with the bottom of the camera.
