Default a few cossie questions

ive always fancied owning a sapphire cosworth but never looked in to in properly.
well i was wandering

how much does it cost to fill one with fuel from the red end of the gauge

what sort of milage can you get out of a full tank if driven with a light right foot

whats more expensive to own 2wd or 4wd?

what sort of insurance preniums am i likley to pay.im 25,8 years ncb, driveway etc etc

when buying one,

what should i steer clear of

what should i be looking at in ways of potential disasters

what was the latest sapphires to be made,j reg?

what should i pay for a clean (but not mint) late car?

i think they are still gonna be out of my league but ive seen so many today and fallin in love with all of em!

Very old now so expect rust, dodgy wiring, worn engine/gearbox/diff worn leather drivers bolster and 20 + owners all who thrashed it....other than that a great car.

Seriously my advice is spend 6k + for a saff and you should see a nice example, get as modded as poss (for breaking reasons ) and make sure the engine has been rebuilt recently!!

Tuff one really, there's alot of rusty heaps out there, tired cars, 2wd seem to be fetching good money these days, as for fuel, depends on spec, how you drive etc, for a clean one, anything these days seems to start about 7k up i'd say, if you listen to the RSOC Valution you'll need 14k..

standard will be a bit of a let down for you imo with regards to perfomance !although i did go in a standard 4x4 one and it was alot quicker then i thought it woud be!go for nive 2wd with stage 1 spec!look at the 6k marker really insurance for this i would expect to pay around 6 hundred mark on limited mileage etc!fuel well i tell ya you want have a light foot for 70% of the time a cosworth likes to be driven hard!i would expect on a well set up one with a good strong engine a average of around 20-22mpg

Buy the best you can afford m8,once you do,fit new sensors, cam belt and tensioner .
K plate saph would be best as it has the gubbins in place already for closed loop,as said above standard is boring imo,go straight to stage 3 for a rewarding drive.

There are cheap one about, three years ago I tried to sell my 4x4 saph as I needed the money for a house move

The engine was fully rebuilt with new everything and had only done 20,000 miles. New clutch. New hybrid turbo. RS500 size cooler. New wheels. New paint. New roose hoses...... the list was endless and it drove perfect on koni suspension. Waited for ages and only got £4600 for it < real tears
