To run the risk of sounding out of order and tragic an event it may well be, but trackday + Rossi wannabe = accident. Why do you think so many bikers are killed at the 'Ring each year? - None of them are publicly mourned are they
i know a lot of people who went to the track day today going to find out what cause was, i dont know if scrote "The original" was there as he was or going to do a track day on his bike??
Sad news. Accidents sadly do happen. People know the risks, and live for their passion. It doesn't soften the blow when something like that happens though.
Everytime you go out on track you need to go out prepared.
It's particularly sad that I see this was a novice session, they would have had a lot of rules, do's and dont's explained to them and is why everyone get's a lecture before going out.

Novice sessions mean fuck all,
Ive seen lads wheel serious pieces of kit out of vans with soft slicks on for novice sessions, my arse were they novices.

I see where your coming from, but where does it say he was a "Rossi wannabe"?
Getting on a bike, and taking it on track is a dangerous thing to do for anyone, no matter how skilled. Im sure he knew the risks but it is still a tragic thing to happen, very sad.

Tragic, unfortunatly motorsport is dangerous
Like wise, having done a few track days, Getting in a car, and going around a track aint an easy thing. To be called a 'rossi wannabe' is a bit tight...
Everyone when on a track goes a little OTT at some point, we all do it. And as Will says, how do you know oil wasn't on track?

Because you was there, was you? If you wasn't, which I'm sure you weren't, I think you should keep your ignorant, stupid idiotic comments to yourself.

the original was definately not there.
bad news, but very badly reported in the norwich evening news article - 'racing' my arse, ignorant twats
I was there, just after it happened, very sad, but the risks were known to all who took part, still feel for the guy and his family though.
Plod chopper was flying around afterwards in the area as well as the gate being manned etc.
The "racing" bit is a bit out of order some think, but from what isaw it looked like people were racing ie trying to go as fast as possible past others ?
tabetha
Hi all. I have joined your forum so I can set the record straight on some of the points that are being discussed regarding the tragic accident at Snet. I was riding in the same group when the incident occurred and my wife was watching at the pit wall. Firstly it was a trackday before a race weekend and there was a novice/inter group and two fast groups because of the number of racers there. The accident occurred in fast group two. Basically, after coming out of Russells a rider had what looked like a tank slapper and lost control of his bike. He crashed on his own. The other two riders crashed into him, his bike and general debris. I was right behind the incident which was unavoidable regardless of experience. Sadly one of the crashers landed badly and died instantly. It was not a high speed crash. The marshalls immediately red flagged the track to avoid futher collisions as riders came round Russells on to the start finish straight.
Hope this has helped clear things up.
