just having a bit of a rant really....

Am building up my head for the ZT and have had enough and come inside cos no matter what i try i cant get the collets to sit on the valve stems tidy.

I have tried the usual blob of grease, blob of grease with a magnetic screwdriver, magnetic screwdriver and no grease and none of them has worked at all so far and i have still got all 16valves to do!

am very tempted cos of the pain in the arse its being to take it to the machine shop/engine reconditioning place and say do them! lol

Anyone else having a bad afternoon?

Oh well atleast ive got 2 weeks factory shut down now anyways!

i used the magnetic screwdriver and dab of grease trick, worked fine for me

blob of grease and a steady hand is all thats needed, oh and a bucket full of paitence

Put some grease on the valve stem where the collets go and put them into place using a flat blade (non magnetic) screwdriver with a blob of grease on. The grease on the valve stem will hold the collets in place while you release the spring compressor.

Take ages, and then you get more mad and it gets even harder lol

if it makes you feel any better i can do valve out to spring compressor off in well under a min on a xe head lol

getting them out wasnt too bad! magnetic flat head screwdriver and push like mad on the crappy spring compressors and they came out!

shame it dont work too well putting them back in

Grease is the trick.
Also helps to have a well opened up valve compressor tool to have all the space available.

Same way here, always worked a treat

Use a 2nd (non magnetic) screwdriver to hold it in place and get the magnetic one out the way first, stops the magnet pulling it back out the grooves.

You need:
Plenty of grease
Luck
Swearing
