as a fellow guitarist I appreciate the time and skill involved here, however, speed means fuck all to 99% of people apart from internet guitar heroes. shredding sounds shit full stop.
I dissagree. Shredding CAN be excellent, and sound fantastic - when used in the right way. Take Dimebag Darrell (ex-Pantera, RIP) Guy was a true hero on guitar, and a complete innovater. He used to shred, but with purpous and style.
I do agree tho that speed is pointless without feel. I'd far rather listen to some Gary Moore than DragonForce..

Buckethead, Satriani and Petrucci play shred and do some amazing stuff as well which sounds great with real feeling. The likes of Dragon force are shit and i read in a magazine once that Li guy saying how the Clash are awful as its nothing technical. It doesn't have to be in order to be good but speed/techniques can be great if used well.
