Default FAO CVH Engine Builders Re: Flywheel Bolts

I renewed my flywheel/crank bolts when I last changed my clutch (around 8000 miles ago). Should they be replaced every time? or can they be reused?

I could understand re-using ARP bolts as they are £40 a set, but if you use standard Ford ones i'd replace them.

They were nearly £10 last time I replaced them +a phone call to order + a trip to the Dealer..... whats the point in replacing bolts if I don't need to....??

Are they stretch bolts or not?

I heard they were meant to be glued in using "thread lock" or whatever its called....??

Could be messy if one worked loose!!

John, just aswell you are replacing them.

We had COUNTLESS bolts fail when working in the dyno cells at work during the summer, if they are reused they have a tendancy of shearing off when you put them in and retorque them up....which is a cunt as they generally sheer flush with the crank lol.....

For a few quid......replace them!

The replacment ones that came from Burton had thread lock already on. Maybe the same if you get them from Ford aswell.
