Default Help converting cassettes to mp3????

As per title, want to convert my old seduction, fantazia tapes to mp3 files as at the moment their no bloody use to me sitting in a box!!!
Anyone have any ideas how to do it??

I plugged the output phonos of my cassette deck to the input jack of my soundcard and just recorded them. I think I used Nero, but I can't really remember beyond saying I never had any of these converter boxes you see advertised.

once you have done it do u fancy burning them onto cd for me please??? Cant find hardly any of my tapes and i need oldskool back in my life....

read a post on here a couple of hours ago about oldskool choons then spent the rest of the time you tubing...... love it!

i am in the process of doing this myself, i either go straight from tapedeck output to sound card or i go through the amp

get yourself either cool edit or adobe audition (same thing) they are great for recording

so far i have done 2 tapes and they sound great, i have done

fantazia 2nd birthday - slipmatt
dreamscape 8 - dougal/ltj bukem

I'm on a laptop so dont think i can go straight to sound card, go through an amp?
Would a laptop take an input through the headphone jack? Prob silly question!

awesome! i used to spend all my pocked money on Fantazia and Obsession tapes when I was 11-15, had fucking millions of em, and then like a dick, soon as i went off it, binned em

I dont think ive ever gone off it, it turned shit bout '96 may be a little before then actually but still love the old skool - mk1 escort in orange, a sub, sony cassette head unit + 2 6x9's a bit of swan-e, bukem or early hype and I was sorted....when I was 17 mind!

Thats the thing, was mint early and mid 90s, got properly rubbish about 95ish, binned em off, and regretted it ever since

If using a desktop I suggest the use of a PCI sound card - when i tried using the on board sound card i was getting alot of noise

many places sell it such as firebox, just google for stockists... it fits in your PC same was as a CD drive does
very cool and the software is pretty good

if you could upload the mp3's when done, I would appreciate it... I love oldskool almost as much as Drum and Bass..

I remember an old tape I had, Fantazia in Scotland, was a Seduction tape.. loved it, but chucked it fuck sake!
