it only works with sky routers - they have locked them down so you can't get the username or password, and if you phone them up they wont give you them either...trust me, i've tried!

saying that, the router they give you is pretty good, havent had any probs with mine.

bastards..... i had a power cut over the weekend and its been down ever since.

tried all the usual things... power off / on, reset, new filter.
i have a dial tone and can make calls so it must be the router.
no internet access through pc or xbox 360.

getting hold of sky is impossible and when i do they do fuck all or can hardly speak english (which drives me insane )

how do i get them to send me a new router?

sorry if this is stating the obvious, but have you got 3 lights on? Power, Internet and ADSL - if either ADSL or Interet are orange or flashing or not on at all then you got a prob with router - as for getting through to sky, just demand to speak to someone higher up you'll have to perseveer with them, just be nice to them till u get ya working router, the more angry u get with someone, the less they want to help - take names, business areas and extension numbers as you're passed along. they'll soon send a new one.

You CAN use any router, you just have to read up on getting the password etc. Did it on mine ages ago. Now using the router I had before the sky one came.

that will only get u into the router config - once in there you cant find the broadband username and password, which is what u need when you use a 3'rd party router.

if your router is a netgear one (Sky branded, black) then its locked down and you wont find the username and password.

u do need to speak to sky.
