So if the person mapping it is good at mapping multimap setups with throttle bodies so that they do a series of maps with one for each 15% of throttle angle it will suddenly mutate itself to be as good as them even if it doesnt have that option when it comes out the box?

Wow! Thats truely amazing.
Well, either that or you are talking shite and it actually has its own limitations like ALL ecu's

Most ECU's are quite capable imho it just depends how good the mapper is and how well they know the systems.

Got a set of Det cans and now he thinks he is a god...

Ive not used one personally mate, and I like to stick to things I have firsthand knowledge of.

Motec in general has a good name though, and proper motorsport pedigree.

Not much wrong with them, But the options and programing cable will break the bank.

Seriously overpriced, software not overly user friendly, although that said, I havent used the very latest incarnation yet.

And it wont make your car any faster than using an ecu half the price....or cheaper.

What features does the M800 specifically offer, that makes you think you need it ? That a cheaper ecu wont do.

It is used alot on Evos, i think Simon Norris uses it a fair bit, Christian from APT will have had some experience of it as Gary had it on his Evo,

I looked at it but it is very expensive comapred to the likes of Autronic etc

Had Motec in Nissan GTI-R rallycar, never had any problems but never had to fiddle with it either (wouldn't have known what to do anyway), had a cableconnector for laptop and dial to switch between mappings if I recall correctly.
Car was running TB's, STOOPID cams and high comp.

Without a doubt, the M800 will do pretty much anything you want it to.....just at a price.

It is a very good ecu. But I wouldnt be rushing out to by one.
