From behind, ragging my Cossie after it you could hear it so clearly over the din of my own car. I wish I knew how to get my old video tape stuff onto the PC
Spill some of the spec Tony! I'm sure a few peeps will be surprised by the motor for one - plus the trick suspension set up....

More that a little surprised to see ME, and and in car video of me following my brother round in Tony's RS1600i from National Day 05
Ace little video
Regarding having the legs - watch the boost guage in the dead centre of my dash board
Although for a 1600 NA lump it deffo isn't slow that's for sure!
320 bhp at that time - Greens, Stu MSD Chip and T34 normal stage 3 stuff. It later went to 370, 420 and 467bhp along with a lot of work on suspension and brakes.
Now people can see why I splashed the cash on something a bit better than the standard kit, which although worked fine on the road, as you can see there not ideal for emegency track braking!
I think that was a Black Mk2 Escort with a broken rear axle - see the wheel lying / rolling across the track! Sketch obviously saw it, all I saw was your car Tony heading towards my front bumper! Nice of me to avoid it, this thread would have been more like an Obituary if I had have been a little closer
For information, that was a first lap out and Sketch was warming the tyres and brakes (see the brake lights on half way round the lap by Schwantz Curve), but just watch how it goes round the last chicane (Goddards) onto the straight - a brief taste of just how well the thing takes the bends
Tony - any more events / rallies / track days we're likely to see you and the car out in action?

Wrong, 1600 K series with a bit of lotus in it well actually a lot of lotus in it. it is all about revs this engine as you can tell from the video on the straight it just keeps reving well past where you think you should stop and change up. also as tony say's the car stops well too. are there anymore clips of this car about.

Si nothing as planned but I never plan anything so who knows
Motorsport is funny, we have all the fun in the car, but there is a team of people behind you also looking after the thing.
When we go up to Scotland we have a team of about 6 people to sort out, so having people like Barry (bondy 1) and friends like David Tait and Andy Mac who trek up from Glasgow just to help out on an event, its a full time co-ordination event in itself. Asking people to put themselves out for your fun is not easy.
They can get paid back when I book the odd trackday for them to have a play as im not scared if it getting abuse
In fact I think David is the only guy the rear of the car has ever stepped out for on a circuit when its been on its circuit settings.
Lee (Cosevo) if it was to go anywhere bud I'd be happy to see it go down to Essex as you have a passion for your cars
I'd hate to lose it really though

Still loving this video http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...Clip1Small.flv
that a black 3 door hitting my area on the pit wall?

That sadly was a nice Mk2 Escort, the rear right wheel and whole stub axle type assembly fell off as he entered the straight!
Seen exactly the same thing happen to one (may have been a Mk1) at Croft 2 years years ago. Weak point I guess.

Northwest stages is in Feb could be running for that and im sure we could find a co driver for you mate.
Shall i start clearing out the garage then or not ? would be good to hear the K series splutter into life again.
Think im going to start a poll on here to harass Tony to get the car out again.

It certainly isnt slow well saying that you would have to shove it around at the minute. Just watched the video clip again it is quite a soft suspension set up when you watch it from behind as it lean's a lot but when you are in the car it feels like it is so hard on it's suspension with no body roll. Wont take much to get it up and running really just a bit of time and TLC.
Surprised he has'nt been on telling us to get on with it then.

Need's the engine rebuilding mate and putting back in the car and Bias pedal box fitting back on it and re bleed the brakes not much really, Takes a bit of time to build the engine up but need to get all the parts in one place as i think the exhaust is in Wigan with a few other bits.

I could have easily out run the Subaru down that vally but didnt want you getting a 1st O/A trophy on your first event
Had fun tonight and you did well Thanks for asking me to drive for you.
See Bondy1 we are still winning trophies in motorsport even without a running competition car
I might rebuild the engine over winter but will need to find it somewhere interesting to go. Those trackday things are sooooooo

This Escort is by FAR the best handling car I have EVER driven and been driven in....
I was Tony's Navvi a couple of years ago and we had a great time, even if we didn't manage to finish a single event !!
We had some great times out...
First Rally .... First corner and nearly wrapped it up into a brick building lol
Overtaking 2 cars sideways on gravel at Burscough
Being run over by an Army land rover !!!
Me driving flat out in 4th in the pissing down rain, 2 wheels on the grass passing a scooby into the braking zone at Cadwell park!!
The car just instilled such confidence in you it was unreal... It would outbrake pretty much anything and had the grunt to back it up.
I really hope you get this car back on the road and rally stages mate.
You are a legend.

Trying to kill us both was part of the fun
Oh ... and you still are my navvi
Keeping it on slicks at Cadwell in the heavy rain
"Take him on the grass there will be more grip"
