its not really needed for a road car, but why skimp on something as simple as that if your after building a decent 550bhp engine and spending quite a few pounds to do it anyway.

its not just to aid oil surge etc on tracks, but it will also allow a larger volume of oil to be contained, which in a knock on effect will take longer to get to really high temperatures, which is a handy thing when the engine may be working hard to give the power figures your after.

...depends on what car...4x4's hold more oil as standard....dont know if that to do with the sump though............but my pals 2wd has two extra wings on it where as mine (4x4) has just one cos of extr luggage the 4x4 has...........mine takes about 5,1/2 ltrs with a filter change......

i bought my first one from Ebay,it had the all important mountune gated bit in the middle of it,then the diff cae loose and fooked it up, so i bought one off Pete, think its one of Mike R sumps, then i put the gated bit in that one.

the gated part is important if you are tracking it as it stops the oil surge as you are going for it around the sweeping bends.

Fitted a big wing to my engine to give that extra safety margin of having 6.5 litres of oil over the standard 4 litres.

Also enables you to get a proper oil return for your breather system, below oil level
