Uprated rear diff hanger fitting problem
Has anyone else had a problem fitting up one the uprated diff hangers on a Esc Cos.. mine fowls the ARB
Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?? I tried turning the ARB upside down to see if it was shaped differently, made no difference
It's a 7'5" diff in a Ahmed beam but I can't see how that would make a difference as the mount and the ARB bar mount to the chassis,
Only thing I can come up with is maybe my mount is for a Sierra with the skinny ARB?? other then that I'm stumped

I fitted one to my 4x4 sapph and had no clearance issues? that just with the standard 7" diff.
Although i have heard of people having to gring down bolt heads before due to the arb hitting them.

ive heard exactly the same.
as as above has mentioned, bolts have been ground down to suit, or slimmer headed bolt used.
yet to fit up my anti-roll-bar so havent had this issue.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Is that with the rear wheels off the floor? I noticed this too on mine, but when the wheels are back on the floor it doesn't foul as the suspension is in it's normal position and not at full travel.

20K+ Super Poster.
If you can't find an escos rear roll bar you can use a SCORPIO Cossie(saloon) rear roll bar, just 1mm thinnner that's all, must be from the BUG EYE scorpio though.
Just about to fit mine, should be fun then!!

It seems very hit and miss, some have issues touching and some don't (good old Ford tolerances ). Obviously it is more likely to need a tweek with the larger ARBs, but I somehow got away with out it on mine, yet others with even the smaller ARBs have needed a different bolt or grinding some material off.

I found this bit of information last night from the manufacturers
Note that while the vast majority of Escort Cosworth owners had no trouble installing this mount on their vehicles, there have been a couple owners that mentioned the rear sway bar needs to be adjusted rearward a bit to clear this mount. One owner filed down the lower diff mount bolt head a bit to solve the problem. If you are purchasing this mount to install on an Escort Cosworth, please understand that you may have to adjust your rear sway bar to complete the installation, or clearance the diff mount bolts. Sierra and XR4Ti owners need not concern themselves with this, as the mount fits perfectly in all situations.
Damn yanks

Paul you bufty!!
I recall mine was a bit snug, but it wasn't rubbing. I'm sure when you assemble the bushes this had something to do with it. I'm probably wrong but I remember David saying if theres a wrong way I'll do it first and it was a few months ago

Someone off here can't honestly remember who, he had imported it from the US but never got around to fitting it.
Glad I'm not the only one with probs with this mount, silly design but I guess you don't get many Esc Cos's in the US

Warren I tried everything took the ARB off turned it upside down, re-adjusted the ARB mounts re adjusted the diff mount just a poor design that should suit all without mods IMO but I guess I'm just an idiot eh Mike?
