i just got a nokia n95 off a mate for the grand sum of £20 its got some problems though
needs a charger
and it doesnt send texts
and the internet doesnt work
iv been told that a software update will sort these do u reckon it will and were can i get it done

www.nokia.co.uk has a section where you can download the software. As you only just got it, you won't need to back up anything on it first, but I think you can get their Studio softwear there too.

The charger for the N95 is the AC-5X and should be easy enough to get off ebay.

The cable to connect the phone to your computer is the DKE-2 (proper USB to mini-USB)

If it doesn't send texts, it's probably more likely a network problem and if your sim is text and internet enabled the phone will work fine once you put your sim in.

Do a hard reset, it will clear out the crap from the previous owner and it will restore everything including settings.

and its not stolen i got it off a good mate she got it as an upgrade and it didnt send texts so she rang them and they sent out a new one and she had it lying around and i bought it off here for £20

I think they easily make over £200 sim free and unlocked.

If it doesn't send texts then its probably a Message centre number discrepancy thats linked to the sim as I said earlier.

Your sim card should register the correct network itself.

Make sure it's inserted correctly, restart the phone and try again.

What network are you on? Is the phone SIM unlocked?

If it's not unlocked, then you can't use other network apart from O2.

iv got it to register as t mobile now but theres still no main menu

The menu should be on the button to the left of the joypad - I don't think this function can be re-allocated to another button

my mate has just bought 3 of them
one is brand new in the box he paid 100 quid
the other one was 35 quid, bit tatty but fully boxed with accessories. When he went to pick it up the bloke chucked a faulty n95 in for free!!!

I got N95, Needs charging everyday, keeps freezing, not picking up signal til you restart, turns its self off and back on. Other than that brill phone lol
