Best thing is join the Focus st owners club, rrp of the stratergem is £550, you get a £50 discount cos your a member.
And by the way its the best thing you could ever do to your ST, bar nothing.
I had my dreamscience unit before I collected my car from Ford, its the absolute bollox mate.

get a second hand one, good for 5 different cars if returned to standard.350 should get u a second hand one, join focusstoc.com,spend a tenner to become an owner member and then get the unit sent back to jared at ds to get the duo maps installed.you then will have 9 maps to play with for under 500 quid.

A MotorSport Develepmonts remapped Focus ST would be quicker than a Focus ST with dreamscience. Chances are they will have a dealer local to you.
www.remapping.co.uk.
They should have a dealer in your area, I promise you it is a better option.

As suggested by others you should be able to pick up a used DS unit with at least 3 or 4 lives left on it for around £300 to £350 based on ebay & recent ones up for sale on the forums rather then getting a new one
Otherwise there are other options aside from DS, such as Bluefin, CodeRed, MSD remap, etc for instance

Bluefin is a seriously tacky piece of kit. My friend had an MSD remapped 115PS Diesel Mondeo and it was much, much quicker than a 130PS Mondeo with Bluefin in every possible situation. Not only that, it was also much, much better on fuel.

Thing is with some of the other remap units out there is that they are locked to your car only, and its one tune, and although you might squeeze a few extra bhp's from a custom map of your car, thats how it will always be, and not very good if you still have warranty on your car and it has to go back to Ford, specially if they flash your ECU and you lose the map.
With the Dreamscience all the new units have 5 different tunes to suit what you want, ranging from a entry level map, performance, which is a slight hike in power and torque but better mpgs, performace + which is again a slightly bigger hike in power, then to a midrange punch map called Race, and its big brother Race +, which seems to be the peoples favourite as it produces somewhere in the region of 260-270bhp & 330-340lbs of torque, then the last of the maps which is called DSCI, which give slightly less torque than Race +, but holds it pretty much to the redline as opposed to Race + which drops off at about 5k. these are the tunes from the stratergem which is the mapping unit for slightly modded cars. There is a unit called the Pro(i think) which is for more heavily modded cars and has suited maps for these.
You can switch between the tunes as many times as you want with no probs and return the car to standard for said reasons above, ie going to Ford with warranty.
Another benefit of the Dreamscience is fault code reading and clearing, datalogging and a few other bits.
To say I did my homework before buying would be about right, but it works very very well on my ST and transforms the car.
You can do no wrong what so ever giving Dreamscience a call and ask to speak to Jared/Adam or Carl, they are a seriously helpfull lot and will spare time for you even if you havnt given them any money.
Cheers, Mike

it can be used on 5 different cars as long as the car is returned to standard, once the 'lives' have been used the unit can be returned to ds to be reset.you can flash your own car as many times as you like witout any bother.

Anyone had any problems with the Dreamscience ??
A friend recently tried it on a Focus ST, and after it ran like a bag o shite. Car has FMIC, downpipe and whatever other crap was supposed to go with it, bought as a package.
That said.....before the car came to him to have the stuff fitted...the owner had totally fried the clutch too...so no idea how it was running before hand lol

I got a recon'd unit from them, still with a warranty and 5 lives.
was a fair bit cheaper too, give them a bell and ask if they still have any.
Also look on www.focusSToc.co.uk theres normally a 2nd hand one for sale now and again.

It's all very well buying a second hand one (mine was aswell) but you still have to pay for a tuner to map it
thats why it costs £500 from most tuners as it includes a £200 map aswell

Out of interest what are all you maps? Are they the race and race plus type ones?

This is simply because of the time Jared and the team has put into the unit and that fact that Jared owns a ST and so has tried basically everything.
The 5 maps are, Performance, Performance+, Race, Race+ and DSCI, which is what I use as I dont like the diesel like power band from Race+. But they are very good and Race+ certainly impresses.
