Default crap quality focus rs spark plugs.....

ive had 2 sets of genuine ford focus rs spark plugs. The 1st set 2 of them cracked (the porcelene) so i bought a new set (one cracked) so changed that, then car had a miss fire, all plugs sparked, but turned out 2 were shite, after help from gup turned out it was brand new spark plugs which just wernt good enough, bought new ones again and is spot on, just think they are shite qualit now and ain impresses

alternator giving a little grief as not charging so caused me a bit of a splutter then died (had lights, fans etc on and didnt have the charge) left it ticking over for a while with them off and gave it Ł50 in the tank to ensure its getting fuel and feels better , need to get it to someone thought to check the map etc over but dont know who? lol

mates going to wire up the lamba and thw wideband, so it will just need enabling on the ecu which i think then gives it self adaptive mapping? (within reason)

Er you do need it mapped for running in or you could wipe out your engine........

Chances are the map is far enough out that it's breaking plugs.

I have never heard of any or had any myself problems with the standard Ford plugs!

I know of 3 destroyed engines due to Denso ITV 22's failing and a mate who removed a plug that he could flick the electrode off a ITV22!

sounds like they beed dropped if its the porcelin,,, considering the engines never ran its not a faulty plug

dont buy any plugs from there again as it sounds like a place that picks em up and puts them back on the shelf

once dropped theres a good chance there cracked if its on the floor so time for the bin

quite poss, the porcelene cracks were visable when removed, but not when fitted , engine has run, the final 2 fooked plugs look physically fine, had a spark, just werent good enough

As already suggested sounds as though the ones you've got have probably been damaged at some point - there are a number of high power FRS running the standard Ford plugs without any problems at all - i certainly wouldnt say the quality of the product itself is crap tbh
