Default Which Console, Game Has The Most Accurate Nurburgring Track?

I've been mastering it for a while now on Forza Motorsport Two for the Xbox 360 and I am almost perfect at it. I know all the corners and can push myself very far. However, looking at Youtube links the track is nothing like that of on the game.

For example, Brunchen is much, much longer.

What are your opinions, Benni.

I have done it in 6 Minutes 38 Seconds, I thought this was good until it popped up to tell me someone had done it in the same car, the R10 diesel Audi in 5 Minutes 50 Seconds.

Is my time good, I assume so? How about you mate.

Wierdly enough, in the next issue of Redline, out in a few weeks, we have a feature reviewing all the games ever released that feature the Nurburgring.

Its a Nurburgring special edition mag.

That's weird because I find the second half of the track is where I make up most of my lost time, messing it up on the tight bends of the first half.

I don't understand how anyone can do a minute faster than I have done? 5:50 just seems impossible? What do you think.

that is a VERY fast time if someone did do it !

i like the first half as when you go past the pits you have fast left and right handers which is very good for the audi and i can seem to be quick through it but on the second half you have a few blind corners
this is where knowing the track helps !
i should learn it wanna go there next year

did you go round the ring when yo went ?

I did some laps as a passenger in a Mondeo ST220. Was absolutely fantastic. Jim, this is what I am using, pleased to here it's the most accurate.

Maybe me you and Jimbo should pick a car and race the ring, see who is quickest?

GTR Evolution will feature the Nordschleife. Given the fact that this is a proper motorsport simulation, I guess it'll be quite accurate.

RUBBISH, the consoles ARE a genuinely useful learning tool.

You need to have been out with mongo to comment, within 5 laps he was TOTALLY on the pace (ask MikeR) and his only experience before that was 2K laps or so on the play station.
I think he was actually a few seconds quicker than me in the same car in fact!
And he pointed out a few lines I had wrong, and Id been round it at least 100 times at that point and he was on his first ever real life lap as a passenger at the time

Its VERY useful practice on the games.

chip, the problem comes where someone thinks "i know the ring" based on a PS2 experience it's gonna end badly...

Done 6:48 with the RS200 on GT4, but I also managed to coax 218 out of it too, so Im guessing that it is a little inaccurate, lol.

Well it certainly didnt for mongo, he was fucking awesome, like I said, ask Mike Rainbird or someone else who went out with him and is qualified to comment.

I would have said the same as you before I went in the car with mongo but he GENUINELY had learn the ring from the game, sure he needed a couple of laps to get used to the transition from game to real life, but im sure no one is going to go and give it 10/10ths on their first lap, but even on the first lap he had round there, his lines were better than mine.

i think the gt4 version is better than the xbox version. i remember a couple of years ago a redline gave away a dvd with some nurburgring action on it which included a full lap in warren kellys escort cossie and after playing gt4 watching the dvd i could say what corners where coming up next. but i must of done over 1000 laps on gt4 as i've done the 24hr race 3 times without using the b spec mode i played it on my mates x box and seemed to keep getting lost, it seemed like a totaly different track

Competely agree with Chip on this. I have a friend who participates in a classic car race series, and a couple of years ago they participated in a race for the first time on the Nordschlief.

My mate practiced on the PS2 for weeks before going (mine in fact!), and as a result was signficantly quicker than others. He attributes most of this to being able to learn the general layout on the console!

learning the general layout yes, definately, it's what i did between my first and second trip... payed it on the computer and watched a load of videos

really needs to be backed up with some real world experience tho for MOST people. the thing that makes the big difference in my opinion is the scenery. the reference points you use are different to real life which could get a bit messy if you use them to mark turnin etc.

Playiung the game and driving it are not quite that,i remember a couple of years back ,all the lads had hammered the consoles ,only to be cought out by the Gradients of the actual track, mate of mine then realised why he always crashed on one corner,as it was in reality steeper than the game .

Mongo must be a good driver in the first place Chip.
