Default tyre sizes on Saff cosworth

Hi,

I was thinking about having 225/35/17 on the rears and 215/40/17 on the front. Would this cause any problems at all??

Also would I be able to get 235/40/17's on the back??

What is the best configuration people have experienced?

Scott.

if its a 4x4 u will run into problems if the overall radius of the front and rear wheels are not the same. u'll end up with one set trying to drag the other.

Right, looking at correct tyre sizes it seems 225/35/17 on the back is best, and Falken FK451 look good for this at Ł74 each.

...and 205/40/17 on the front, which I'll probably use the Falkens again.

Does this setup look good??

what do you mean by a few tweaks?? spacers and arch rolling??

I wouldn't have thought so because they don't sit in the arches and the radius is almost the same as standard cossies wheels.

Should be fine. I run 215/40/17 FK451 on the rear of my 2wd and there is enuff room to run a bigger tyre. You MAY get away with 215 at the front too but i tried this and had to go down to 205 at the front coz they were fouling the arches.

I'm not too worried about the front and am quite happy with 205's. I was round Marks the other week and a guy had 235's on the back of his but they did look very wide as if they may have needed some mods to get on.

Think I'm gonna go for the 225's to be on the safe side.

I ran 225/35/17 all round for two years.

No problems at all.

Wouldn't use those shonky Falkens though

i found goodyear eagles to be more grippy than S02's. think it's because the s02's have a squarer shoulder that doesn't suit the poor suspension geometry of sierras. haven't tried the falkens.

Yes, but the Eagles were well over Ł100 each. I have Eagles at the moment and they don't stand out massively over other tyres I've had (namely toyo proxies).
