The unkillable gearbox is now dead!!
After 5 years, 80/90'000 miles, numerous trackdays, 2 Nurburgring trips and Le Mans road trip, my good old power engineering gearbox has finally bitten the dust today at Croft, didn't she do well lol
Think the slicks helped see it off
Failure was impending after 2nd gear started to scream towards the end of the day on saturday - however, the box hung in there for another 3 sessions today
HUGE thanks to Nutter for trailoring my car there and back home, Dingy & derbyshire group for supporting me all weekend
Andy R is my new best friend lol cheers for coming out with me for my first session on slicks - top advice to, paid more attention with anticipating gear change etc helped me keep it in a straight line
Despite the large repair bill now heading my way - was the best Croft weekend ever for me

the noises were ever so strange - took dingo out first session this morning to show him and asked Oli for a diagnosis.. was pretty much as expected lol - it being fooked
Brad and Karl were reckoning on diff bearings i think
i decided that as it was pretty much written off, so might as well use it til it died as it wasn't going to fix itself lol

yeah it's lasted a lot longer than most.
Cheers Andy, really helped me i like taking folk like you, Dingy, Tim and Podge out - i used to be bad for not using all the track but feels a lot better letting it run wide in places sometimes. Really enjoyed my time on track
