I have or rather my ex-tuner did........put two holes in a mint cosworth 200 block, smashed the touring car spec head to pieces, fucked the steel rods, je forged pistons, and wrecked a very good baffled sump, basically lunching the entire engine. Only remaining usable part was the cam cover and sump plug lol!!

Here are a couple of pics of a failed Evo engine belonging to someone I know.

Balancer shaft decided to make a bid for freedom probably as the result of a broken conrod.

Unsurprisingly blew my old Rover GSi T engine to pieces, after sitting at silly speeds all the way from Stoke to the Derby turn off on the A50.

Never got any pics as i left for the Falklands a week later and got the car scrapped, mate took the head off and said it was a right fooking mess. Looking at the sump before i left i could tell it wasnt pretty with all the holes and dents in it.

One of my mates blew his 2 wheel drive cosworth engine in style a few years ago. He put a rod through either side of the block and split the sump It was only stage 1 but I think it was badly setup with too much boost because it went too well for a stage 1 and when it had a new engine it went slower as expected.

His missus said it was head gasket failure but it was a white sapph and the back of it was black
