Harvey,

My car is my toy and the list of toys I require is a variable. I want to be able to add and subtract toys from it as and when I fancy having a play around.

So with that in mind, I think I am better aiming for a full unit.

My list of sensors and features that I planned to run initially is as follows...

Inputs,

5 bar map sensor
crank position using 36-1 tooth patern
cam position using 1 single tooth (this was originally specced for the T6 I had)
Throttle position
Inlet air temperature sensor
Coolant temperature sensor
Fuel temperature
Oil temperature
Exhaust gas temperature
Oil pressure
Fuel pressure

Ouputs,

Idle speed control valve
4 x high impedance injectors
either a coil pack or 4 individual coils
Air to air injectors
Fuel pump
Cooling fans

I would like to play around with full throttle gear change, launch control and ALS. 2 of the features if not all 3 would be best using a clutch switch.

I would also like to possibly play around with the drive by wire and use a throttle body with such capabilities and ditch the idle valve.

I am also considering individual throttle bodies in the future and playing with closed loop boost and maybe (without using ALS etc) closed loop fueling.

I assume these units have adaptive mixture compensation too.

I think thats all I was thinking about. Maybe I'm asking too much but I want something that I can adapt easily.

Also forgot to add that this ECU may end up on other cars in the future also.

Already made 20!! You need another target.

So with this reasoning, I need to ring both Life and Pectel and get them to either give me as much info over the phone or email me the information and prices so I can make an accurate descision....

No one has anything bad to say about either ECU so I'm down to basics of speaking to each supplier and see which one sells it best to me.

Thanks for the help.

I need my new ecu to do as a minimum, drive by wire - in full range, EGR control, Launch strategies, dual map, anti lag, as well as the std ign/fuel options. most fall down at the drive by wire.

If im thinking what martin is thinkin then a diff control option againts wheel speed is in that list - if you can find this out Harvey then we may be having a chat

Daz the DTA needs the control box to make adjustments live, although the S series software is alot better than the old DOS based crap.

Mark, I forgot about EGR and dual map. Dual map could be handy if you have 2 cars and can swap the ECU from car to car!

I did fear that you still needed the knobs box for the DTA.

2200 plus VAT makes it dearer than the SQ6! Which is 2000 and something plus VAT!

I didn't get chance to ring anyone yesterday unfortunately. Too busy, only leaving the workshop at 2.40am this morning.

I don't like MS Rick. Just the way it works just puts me off completely.
