Default 1993 escos power prob???

Hi guys ive not been a member on here for that long and not to long ago bought a big t escos off here.
Since owning and driving the car ive noticed that when you give it a boot full especially in the earlier gears 1,2,3 it revs up to around 5k 6k then all of a sudden it jolts and no power as if its just cut off. Is this normal as i expect not but im unsure as im still learning about the car. The car is standard.
Thanks for your time. Rob

I did put this in tech section but no one ever goes in there lol

What's the spec' of the car - injectors etc. and do you know what boost pressure it hits when it cuts?

I was going to suggest overboost too. Where on the gauge should a standard Escort boost to so he knows? The only Escort Cosworth I've been out in went off the scale

Hi Rob, hope your still enjoying the car. I really miss the old girl, but glad it went to a good new home.

As i said to you a few weeks back in my text, the car its overboosting. I put a brand new lambada and tps sensor, and the idle speed control valve was througherly cleaned and tested.

New cam belt and was set up very good so no timing issues.

As i said to you the cars 16 years old, all it needs is a good set up on the rollers.

it could be the actuator or even the ignition leads, but its defo not the sensors cos they were all done!!

i suppose the ecu could even be playing up? and as you have taken of the original exaust (was 1 of my favorite bits) and sorted a filter, why dont u upgrade the ecu the same time u have it on the rollers?

regards lee
