Default Insurance renewal....Driving any car.

Alright folks,

Just renewed my car insurance with Tesco.

Even after my driving ban and still having a provisional as not yet resat my test it says i can drive any other vehicle.

I take it this means i can put L plates on my "mum's" cosworth then and drive it

seems a bit strange, and imo quite shocking to think that potentially someone who isnt a very competent driver can go around insuring a 1.1 and driving something with good power

And you know the situation of me losing my liscence how exactly for you to call me stupid!

Obviously with 10 years driving experience, 7 of them behind the wheel of a ford RS turbocharged model including my 350bhp Escort Cosworth and years of track driving experience i'm far from incompetent!

sorry i was just stating the obvious, as most people dont lose their license over nothing do they

Im not saying you PERSONALLY are incompetent, i said potentially!

just that it seems quite ridiculous that an insurer would let anyone who has been banned and not even passed to drive any vehicle they please

I thought that on a provisional you license you are ONLY insured on the car you are learning to drive in?

And have someone over 25 with 5 years on car licence to sit with you.

Also most "driving other car" policy is 3rd party ONLY.

So if you crash it, you pay for it out of your own pocket!

21 and 4 years last time I looked.

third party or not, its te damage to other people that makes it serious! Again I dont want to comment on the circumstances of the OP, but if tesco are allowing ANYONE on a provisional to drive other cars thats shocking!

Saying that with bell.com you can choose it as an option i'm 19 no ncb and its only £40 extra. My mates with them and that means he can drive his dad's scooby if he wants hes the same age as me.
