Try Pavillion or Paystream. Paystream will operate the VAT for you on the fixed / flat rate vat scheme so will get you an extra 5% or so with no extra hassle.

1. If you want to pluralise a word ending in an 's', you don't add a second 's'. You just add the apostrophe. So, the word is actually Clitoris'.

2. Is Clitoris' actually even the plural of Clitoris? Or is it Clitorii??

Thick c*nt.

get yourself a limited company costs Ł80

go find a good local accountant and ask how much to do your book for a yr?

i take it your just contracting and all you need to be able to do if pay yourself?

if this is the case go limited you can claim 40p a mile, work clothes along as you purchase threw your company name, vehicle, servicing, home internet (if your in IT) etc etc

i tried all the umbrella companys and they wanted on average Ł25 + V.A.T a week which works out at Ł1527.50 just for there fee's then depends if you pay full P.A.Y.E you or go limited that money for them for nothing

I setup my own limited company, went to local accountant and he will charge me Ł695+ V.A.T for doing my year end account based on my simple IT Contract, this way i pay myself a minimum N.I and the rest if taken a company earning i put 1/5 of that in a online saying account for when i have to pay my corporation tax when it due in august

because i do it this way i'm Ł3500 better off a yr and i can claim for expenses if you go umbrella company you can't claim for alot if anything

plus you only need to do the V.A.T thing if you are VAT registered if you don't purchase anything and all you need its to pay yourself do it my way

if you do purchase items for your work go VAT registered and then you can claim it back my accountant would charge an extra Ł200 on top to do VAT returns which tbh i think is very cheap

How much do they charge ?

I would use Churchill Knight (www.churchill-knight.co.uk) as they do your VAT and year end accounts and everything but thats if you run as a limited company.

Thanks for the reply mate, I am contracting, but will be for a maximum of 3 months (maybe 2), then I will be taken onto the companies books.

I do understand if it was longer than 3 months, then setting up a limited company would be the better option.
