Any of you doing the Sat or Sun @ Croft next weekend?
Been in discussions today with a certin garage with refrence to buying one and am looking for someone with one to basically have a BS with and possibly get a pass ride round the circuit.
Anyone?

just took a deposit on mine but i've had a great year with it, very cheap motoring !!!
Been looking around for a replacement and there is NOTHING that will touch it for the money. Just buy one! They dont depreciate much at all.
I'm looking for a sub Ł10k E46 M3 next and going to get some suspension and big brakes. Not rushing into anything but we are doing a track day at the end of August If you can get to that one my mate will take you out in his CSL.
I'll be at croft but doubt i'll be in the csl.

I have always wanted one, they are stunning cars but I am put off by the warranty horror stories and issues with rear diffs, clutch's etc, I just don't think I could justify spending out huge sums when it went wrong

There are no general issues with the diff so I wouldn't let that worry you.
The 'slipping clutch issue' is WAY overblown. Many people had replacement clutches when they didn't really need them (mostly because they were under warranty). Person gets clutch changed under warranty, tells everyone else, everyone follows kind of thing....
The clutch can slip under specific conditions - short shifting under full (or close to full) throttle - but it also appears to be driver related, as it comes and goes depending how you drive. I think the people who had replacement clutches, where the clutches were actually worn out, really wore the clutches out because they continually made it slip under that condition rather than 1) driving around it (not short shifting under full throttle) or 2) changing their driving style so that SMG didn't 'learn' a relaxed change in the first place.
I've had my CSL since August 2003. It's now done 41k miles and the clutch/SMG is perfect.
