Default Being a house husband is NOT easy lol

The wife went away at 05 00 yesterday morning on a hen do and doesnt return until monday afternoon. I'm left to look after our 3 boys. age 9, 3 and 9 weeks. Fuck me its not easy!

today i have escaped to work whil mum has the youngest 2. im contemplating working nonstop here until monday

worst thing is 2 of my pals who'd normally come over are offshore so im not getting much moral support.

fair play to mums i say!

i love it when i spend a day with my nephew and niece, they're 4 and 18 months. its wicked watching them run round like crazy, then get completly knackered within 30 secs

VERY knackering, but also really really rewarding. i hate it when i see people who are stressed shouting at kids and upsetting them, the kids dont know. a little encouragement works better than barking at them. if they're being little gits also it messes with their heads if you play up worse! they kinda stop, look at you with a WTF expression, then completly forget they were being naughty

I remember reading that if a young kid is playing up in a mall, shouting, screaming, crying, then to do it as well. They soon stop [disclaimer: no i havent tried it]

Get them to a mother and toddler group, 3yr old can play with other kids, 9 week old will sleep or admire the view, and you can talk to all the mummies about what habits your toddler is into.

Then after you pick the eldest up from school, take them to the park to wear them out, by the time you get home and do tea, its bathtime and theyre knackered so ready for bed and fall asleep pretty much instantly.

Finley used to constantly cry, stick the washer on and put him infront of it if you have housework to do (yes your wife will clean the house whilst looking after the kids, there are no magic fairies who do it for you ) the white noise soothes them and reminds em of being in the womb, so might stop the tears

Then when he falls asleep you can get the ironing done or browse the internet for an hour

its for the kids not the parents to admire each other , most of the parents at the toddler group i go to are " normal " unlike the last one which was wags day out

Babysitting can be fun, get some cakes made with eldest 2, that always wastes a few hours

i'd rather see a load of WAG's

i'd love to make cakes too but stopping every 5 mins to rock a baby back to sleep means it could take ALL day

Lambchop it is only hard for you as you are not designed or built to do it,you also don't have a routine set to do this new job,you also have your own work load.Role reversal would make it easier you do the kids she does your job.Wait till the kids become teenagers if you think it is hard now.
