Default Fiesta TDCI 1.4 crank sensor

Hi Guys,

Anyone have any info in regards to fitting a crank sensor to a fiesta 1.4 diesel TDCI 04 MODEL,
my mate has just rang me, they have just bought the car none runner, has a new engine fitted,
by someone at fords in there spare time, he has fuel in the fuel rail, but not out of the injectors
he fitted a new crank sensor but has no pulse at the injector electrical plug,
On the phone he says the crank pulley has no teeth or lugs fitted? and the disk's behind the crank pulley the same no lugs etc, is there a correct sequence to fitting the sensors as said no teeth or lugs on the pulley, instead of just removing and fitting a new sensor, how does it get its signal without any teeth etc on the pulley,

Regards Dave R.

iirc it's a hall effect senser. what makes him think it's crank senser anyway?

has he checked the wiring? the wires can get caught on the driveshaft and rub through.
