tescos 99 is eco-etanol so needs anteratons to the timing to get the best out of it but as a stop gap while there is no v power it would be fine

i tryed the v power in the B10 once & got crap mpg i have been useing bp super but as its 7p a L more than tesco i tryed that & got 170miles out of Ł30 & thats not bad for a 3.2 n/a bus

If you go the other way and put in a higher than 99 RON say 100 or 104 (like racing fuel) does it give you more power because the ECU recognizes the higher octane OR do you have to remap the ECU to tell it that it is a higher octane and therefore will give more power?

I always used Shell, but use Tesco now, isn't any cheaper, but they've pay@pump!
of course it is - when tested. but how do they achieve that 99 RON? some cheaper fuels may get it by additives that do not last long in storage so by the time you use it, it may no longer be 99

i also use tesco for fuel, paying for it on a tesco credit card and get loads of clubcard points. these can be used for loads of things at 4x the value of vouchers that you get (e.g. i used eurotunnel in march and used Ł40 of vouchers to pay for a Ł160 crossing )

As far as I know V power is the only fuel that is specially formulated from the refinary.

All other super/99's are normal fuel with additives.

there you go then. most of you with old fords do not have management that can do that automatically, so you won't get a noticeable difference

I've gotta say although my car which has a VW 1.8T engine which runs on 95 fuel all day long only feels better with Tesco 99! I've tried everything else, V Power, Ultimate, 97 ron and don't seem to feel anything but with Tesco stuff it pulls so much better plus you get clubcard points!
