can any one help we are in the midel of swoping out the gear box and front diff and iv just looked and the diff in the car has got 47 teeth and the new one has got 51 can we get away with putting the 51 teeth diff in or has it got to be the 47 in there .......HELP ASAP PLEASE

 

sounds like you have a 3.9 out of an XR 4x4, not a 3.6 cossie diff, I have a spare here you can have for £30 .

If you put the 51 tooth in, you will KILL the centre VC in a few miles, it will be constantly slipping due to the difference between the front and rear diff, and burn out.

 

Your right mate i think it was we have striped the 2 of them down and made 1 good one out of the 2 . but i dit tell my mate REX about you offer and he wonts to take you up on it so if it is still for sale can you PM me your number and i will pass it on to him thanks for your help
