brakin cvh rockers
ive had 4 exhaust rockers go on my xr2tt in the last 5 months (8 k miles)
on either No 2,3 or 4 cylinder
i run a xr2 engine,
88' lean burn head,
with a kent 35 cam+vernier
cossie pistons, 8.7:1
rev to 6.5k rpm
i torque them up to 27lb/ft and check them,
also check them for cracks.
anyone else suffer this? or know why?

The rocker arms should be very strong mate.
I've never heard of them failing before.
Its worth checking you have all the components in the correct place, i.e rocker arm, fulcram seat, square washer etc.
Also the high lift cam could be causing the problem, you may need the top of your valve guides shortened to prevent the spring fully compressing and the retainer contacting the top of the guide, putting stress on the other components.

I've broken a rocker arm before mate. I was brickin it as I thought I'd done the engine again
Found it to be exhaust rocker on piston 3. I just changed all the rockers in one hit for peace of mind and so far (*touches BIG piece of wood*) haven't had it re occur

I've heard of them going before, but not in numbers. Are you using any strange components? Solid lifters, double valve-springs, non standard valves? I doubt it's the pistons hitting the valves as that would have other consequences too.
