Foo Fighters @ Wembley last night.....
OMG!!! How ever good do they wanna be?! Without doubt the best gig ive ever been to, and probably the best ill ever get the chance to be at! Really was a breath-taking experience......
The last 30 mins was a collaboration with Jimmy Page (Led Zep), which was just amazing, Dave Grohl took to the drums for a couple of songs and just blew the place apart!
86000 people singing sounds fucking mental too!

You cant appreciate a gig like that unless you get into the pit for at least some of the time, as long as you can handle anyhow! LOL!!!

Was quite brutal, we were at the front from the start (4pm ish) until after the supergrass set (8pm i think)!! We went to get a drink and when we came back the Foo Fighers were then coming on and they shut the pitch as it had breached the safety capacity! LOL!! Ended up sneeking into the seats for 10 minutes then made a run for the entrance to the pitch, managed to get back on and for about 25 mins got to the front again but it was carnage, properly massive mosh pit! Every body was going nuts!!

Yeah right! Try Biohazard at Donington 1994 - incited a riot and the stage and field had to be cleared Try Guns N Roses Milton Keynes where two fans died cos of the crush. Try Morbid Angel at the Astoria Theater where me n my mate were crushed against the front barries so hard he passed out cos he couldn't breathe and the only way out was upwards! Babyshambles my arse Pussies

This baffles me! Why would you stay at the front for hours during the support act sets, then leave your place before the band you have paid to see, the main act, the headliners (and the only decent act on the bill) take to the stage?!?!?!?! I've been to hundreds of gigs and that just baffles me!
If it wasnt so warm, and drinks were a bit easier to come by then we would have just rode it out! Still managed to get back into the think of it for the majority of there set though, only in the seats for 2 songs!

spot on!
Anyways, i think mosh pits and their moshers are twats tbh What a waste of fucking time. Why not actually watch a gig?

Must admit, I have to agree with you Lee. These days I'm too old for fucking about in mosh pits - and with ticket prices what they are, if I'm paying Ł30 to see someone, I wanna actually see them Gone are the days we used to pay Ł10-Ł15 a gig, get there early, rush down the front and give it large in the mosh all night, crowd-surfing and stage diving... Nowadays I cruise down there to arrive after the 1st or 2nd support act has played, have a drink in the bar, then either find a nice spot to stand or grab a seat and WATCH a band I have paid to see do what they do best

Yeah its a lot easier. Im off to see Leppard and Whitesnake in 2 weeks and i just booked us some great seats. Ive got front standing at REM in august buts its more laid back....not exactly a band you can mosh to anyways lol. Although i cant beleive how mad they go a mozzer gigs Editors was half mosh....quite pleasant about 20 yards from stage!

I cant imagine Dave Grohl writing a song and hoping to be singing it to a crowd full of people standing still with there arms crossed! IMO you cant feel it properly unless your jumping about and having a dance, but each to there own i guess! I know from the short space of time we spent in the seated area of wembley that it sounded SHIT in comparison to how it sounded at the front, not even close! And its just the whole feeling of being in the thick of it, makes a gig so much more memorable! And theres no reason why you cant watch a gig whilst having a dance and a jump about!!

L'acoustic V-Dosc Line array audio and a XL4 FOH desk.. awsome..
Dave was looking forward to wembley when i spoke to him in holland..
his words were, it will be fucking awsome big man!! the holland show was mental, i was stood next to Jack Black for most of it at side of stage..
Dave was his usual super nice self.

Seen enough bands live and into music in a big enough way to know that you dont have to mosh to enjoy yourself! Are you one of these that thinks a night out isnt good unless youve had a punch up?

Im quite the opposite to be honest, im not a fan of fighting at all! But its a different feeling when adrenaline is rushing through your body as an effect of movement, like i say though each to there own.....
At the end of the day, musics not made for standing still to! End of!
Im sure if i was to attend an REM or Editors gig then it would be a different story, id probably take a comfy seat and a book to read!

Was there on Saturday night, and as an event it was fucking huge, but the sound was shit in a lot of places... Its a big place to fill and was a bit echoey i thought.
Having said that it was great to hear This is a Call, Stacked Actors (Very extended version) and Monkey Wrench though, awesome
Also great to hear Dave drum in the led zep collaboration! As good a front man as he is, i always prefer him sat behind the kit
Great night!
Wooh, just remembered im off to see Radiohead in Barcelona on thursday too... Should be good!!!

We went to Manchester last weekend to see Foo Fighters supported by the Manic Street Preachers (And the Futureheads, but the least said about them the better IMO..lol)
After an hour or 2 waiting to get in, we were met with an empty stadium on entry:
The Futureheads came on 1st - a cross between the sex pistols , the jam and the gallows, but with all the worst bits from each.
Then came a proper support band - The Manic Street Preachers. They played for about 45 minutes with a few newer songs as well as older classics like Kevin Carter, Australia and Design for Life. Top quality performances from Nicky Wire, James Dean Bradfield et. al.
Then a 40 minute wait to see the main attraction: Mr Grohl:
We lasted about 4 songs up the front until we could hardly breath anymore from all the pushing and rushing going on, so we decided to go to the side a bit and actually hear / see what was going on:
One the way back from the loo the crowd of a few people that were pushing before became apparent:
From the side:
All in all, a great day out. Thoroughly recommend going to see them as Dave Grohl is not only a great showman, and funny bloke, but an ace musician that knows how to get things rocking.
