i have been wanting to go into this for a while, im 23 now, basically how long does the college course take to become qualified, my dad when i used to be in contact with him used to do this on and off along with mechanics as well.

the one i did was Both, did 6 months Paint 6 Months body a year


you can just do a year & do the basic's tho but to get the most out of the course you wanna do it for the other 2 years

no offence but a dont think a 3 year collage course could cover all parts of training and give u enough experience of all parts of the job to make u a qualified painter or panel beater imo as a done a four year apprenticeship working for a garage as a painter and ure still learning everyday u work on the job and u cant say someone that gets his papers from a collage course 2 nites a week for so long can possible have as much experience as someone whos been doing the job everyday for 3-4 years in an apprenticeship

I did a full time 3 year course it does learn you but your much better doing an hands on day release course were you work in a body shop fulltime and go to college 1 day a week .I learnt more in the first 6 months after leaving college thani did at college.

I was gonna go college and do this but i was told by loads of people that its not worth it as there aint much money in it and that was from a panel beater sprayer that had his own garage.Also mates told me not to bother as well.
