vr6 corrado is 2.9 vr6 golf is 2.8

cool cars, had a few myself. sunrrof and active rear spoiler are common faults. other than that they're pretty solid reliable cars so just check the normal stuff.

had mine doing around 37mpg on the motorway and around 28 around town
0/60 is meant to be around 6.7 i think of the top of my head..

but its the 3rd gear thats the best willl hit 110 ish all the way fom say 10mph!!

the sound is ace

as above its usually the sunroof and the rear pop up spoiler both are easy fixes and dont be worried if you see gunk in filler cap 9 times out of 10 its coz wrong coolant is used and it gets passed the heat exchanger...

watch for oil leaks around the back of block though near timing chain side listen for the tappets from cold and make sure the door handles work both sides!!

any other questions just ask

oh and dont bother with corrado forum they are all way too clicky

A really good mate of mine at the gym has owned 2 over the past 8 years and loves them. I used his for 2 weeks whilst he was on holiday. I have driven so many cars in my 16 years of driving and the Raddo VR6 sticks in mind as one of the best. It pulled like a train from 0-120mph and onto a top speed of 149mph (Road Angel) dash showed 160mph (standard, no engine mods) 0-60 times are around mid 6's. They average 25-27mpg town and 30+ on a motorway. You will be addicted to the noise when you put your foot down, the roar is just fantastic. Dont try a MK3 Golf VR6, not a patch on the Raddo. The MK3 Golf VR6 was heavier and had 16 less horses than the Raddo due to the 100cc more of the Raddo. The Raddo uses the Golf GTI MK2 floorpan and handles extremley well. So good infact the Clarkson rated it as one of his all time fav' cars.
Take one out for a test drive and see what you think. If your near Milton Keynes my mate will take you out in his.

I have the later golf vr6 and love it, it's been an expensive car to maintain though with something going wrong nearly every month & never something cheap, i've spent about £500 on it in the last year in parts alone and i bought a good one with service history and low miles. but i'm very happy with it, it's never actually let me down, drives lovely and isn't that bad on fuel, as said 30+ on a motorway with low-mid 20's around town driving sensibly. and will still pull over 140mph on the gps. i've no intention of selling mine anytime soon!

Ive had mine 3 months now and absolutely adore it.
My mpg is averaging around 23 and think the 0-60 time is mid 6's as said above.
I was lucky and found one with FSH, 2 owners from new and no problems with the spoiler or sunroof etc.....
The sound is amazing!!!

My advice would be buy the best you can afford, buy cheap pay twice. Lol. I paid £6K for mine & it was a low owner & had 65K on the clock, 1996 N reg with full sh even then it need a few new sensors to get it running 100%

The earlier cars had Dizzys but later ones had Coilpacks. Timing chains can be noisey , ticking noise at low revs, so if you look at a 100K plus cars check its been serviced regular or had the chains done. Heard its a big job & expensive depending on who you know. Door handles can cause problems as can the heater matrix, ie it leaks.Look for damp carpet. Also ask what oil its been run on as they do get very hot & Oil temp can get high in the summer & when driven hard, not sure what grade it was now but good quality oil is a must, same as with an RS.

The best thing is look at a few & see if you can borrow the ECU scanner as that will tell you if any fault codes have been logged in the ECU.

As said very good cars but thirsty, not cossie quick but they are so easy to drive. Mine made 199 bhp on PE rolling road with Exhaust & filter. Would have another tomorrow, easiest car I ever had to sell. 1yr on I sold it for what I paid.

3.2 scotts mototune conversion and full oeittinger kit. Not a mad car at all but had a nice stance and got a lot of looks. MPG was rubbish for the performance though

Remember years back, my ex guvnor at Ripspeed/Eurostyling had the first G60 Corrado in the country (was Metalic Mauve like the one above).........

Was very nice bit o' kit & felt pretty rapid back then, they still look good now & has a bit of X-Factor due to rarity.

VR6 for lazy power, any gear put your foot down & it pulls etc. The trouble with the VR6 is that its heavy on the front end. G60's are more tuneable out of the box, sure they are 170 BHP as standard. You can super charge the VR6 which is what some owners do but its the expense. Also transplants from Newer VW's is possible.

I'd still go for a VR6 !
