Default DIY electrical (house) diagram wanted

Can someone point me in the right direction for a diagram/link that shows how to wire up a tripple light switch?

Think its called a 'three gang switch'

Many thanks

Well, they wire the same as 3 seperate single switches mate in theory, but depends on wether a live has been run from every light, or one live has been taken from the loop down to the switch then wired to all 3 toggles behind the switch, then the 3 switch wires and earth. Hard to explain

I assume I run a single (three core) wire in carrying the power then there is three wires coming out of the switch that go to the lights.

But all it has on the back is L1,L2,com etc.

I'm sure it means something to someone, but not me!

ah right so ya running a new circuit then. Thought ya was just replacing a switch

Generally, on a single switch/light there is a 3 core wire. Pos, Neg, Earth, The neg black is used as the switched live so in the lamp holder and switch back box it gets covered with red sheafing. The live is taken thru the red pos wire from the loop.

To save running 3, 3 core wires to the switch, you can run one 3 core wire to the switch to bring down the live from one lamp, and then 2 other single wires from the other 2 lamps for their switch wires. You then used short red wire to take the live from the pos wire at switch to the other switch terminals.

Bloody hard to explain on here mate

Probably better I get someone who know what they are doing to do this for me.

Better not ask about a 30amp ring main then!

ring mains are easier than lighting mate Lighting is a fiddly job if ya not experienced. Especially when you come to 3 way, 3 gang switching wtc
