not big amount atall but wierd....

its a second account i only use for a couple direct debits, car insurance, paypal etc

i never use the card in a shop etc i just nip into bank once month deposit cash enough to cover the DD's

so last month i saw this appear
8 Apr 2008 ....BAC .....MCA ....18.60

checking online today this has appeared
28 May 2008 ....BAC ...MCA... 100.00

i did pop into branch last month and ask, they all muttered to eachother and to be honest couldnt tell me a lot, i just thought oh well ill leave it in there if its a misstake someone will claw it back but today a hundred has been deposited

naturally im not gonna touch it as its not mine, i really cant think of anyway it would be put into there as money gos into my other account which is with a completely different bank

who is mca?

i presume a bac deposit is just the std paying in type thing?

note the dates there not the same on each month so i presume its not someones wages etc???

on my account overview page it appears as a automated credit, then when i click for the statement it lists the above details

lolbe tempting if 5k or similar was put in, id prob withdraw it and put it into another account, so can hold onto it as long as poss to get the interest

Yep its a money transfer, very strange though. Someones obviously given MCA the wrong details.

tis strange tho as thought they need acc number sort code and name to deposit

Yeah your right, im pretty sure they do. Maybe its some sort of admin error then by one of the bankers?

Id mention it to be honest mate. If someone does have your details then thats gotta be a bad thing surely. It wont be long before they realise.

it's just a mistaken bacs payment

Will get taken care of by your bank's rejected entries/bacs recall department as they normally deal with claims

as i say i tried int he branch before to ask were it came from and they couldnt help too much, whu should i have to spend ages on the phone pressing 1 for such and such.

to be honest if it was a big amount i would put it into another account and when they eventually ask for it drag my heels giving it back
