Got P60 through the other day and just opened it. Now on the right hand side it says total earnings this year (which I guess is gross) and next to it tax deducted and total deductions.

These deductions, is this all tax deductions, ie; income tax and NI? Or is this plus NI?

Because lower down it has a section for NI, and says "Employee's contirbution payable" and has a different figure than in the tas deduction box

So is it whats in the tax deduction box PLUS whats in the NI box, or is whats in the TOTAL DEDUCTIONS box both NI + income tax? Cos whats in the TOTAL DEDUCTIONS is the same as whats in the Tax Deductions.....

 

employers pay around 18% of your wage on top for your NI contribution, aswell as your own NI contribution! this aint taken out your own wage, they have to pay it out of their own pockets. so that part will be what your employer has to pay. i think thats right!

 

No I know that, what I want to know is I got aaaaa.aa total earnings. Tax box says I paid xxxx.xx, NI box says yyyy.yy

Did I pay xxxx.xx PLUS yyyy.yy or is xxxx.xx INCLUDING the yyyy.yy?

 

on my pay slip tax and NI are different and there total is the deductions from my pay... so i would assume they are different and their total is the total deductions... is there not a total deductions on your p60?

 

you have your total earnings that year
then your total tax that you paid

if you have any others i'll have a look and see but i've got none as far as i'm aware on the P60

and seeing as it's just for your tax it shouldn't really have anything else on it

Right, the numbers in A + B are the same. In box C there is a different number.

Question = Does the ammount in box B include the ammount in box C or is it box A (or b) PLUS box C equl the total ammount of money that has been taken from my total earnings this year?
