Default Goodwood Festival of speed

Having never been there and also having been given an offer i cant refuse this year where is the best place to watch from?

I see that there are loads of different places to stand and sit so looking for some guidance from previous visitors to the event.

Cheers,

I've been for the last 2 years and for me the best place to be is Molecomb. I was there last year on the Friday and saw this

I was stood right where it hit the bales!

It's a good idea to book a grandstand if you go because if it rains there is nowhere to shelter and it can spoil the day.

the second right hand bend is always a good one just before the straight, it pissed down last year but seeing rod millen pedal his 900bhp pikes peak chevy tacoma completely sideways was worth it!!!

The whole hill is good, I tend to watch just after the wall's with the Bowlers running behind. Not to far to walk up the hill for the rally action. Im going on the saturday with a group of 5 friends and cant wait. Go to the start area just to watch the F1 car's launch of the start line as it is mighty impressive.

any where you can see from. the event gets bigger and bigger every year, and i will avoid it this year as it tends to be a repeat year on year and having been regularly for the last 8 or 9 years i am a bit bored of it (even though it is a massive spectacle and well worth going if you have never been before). the crowds are now huge, and unless you reserve an expensive granstand seat, you will have to get there early to get a decent spot by the barriers to see well.

also it's nice to walk around the stands, the paddock and up to the rally stage

ive been every year since its started and stood pretty much everywhere possible. what we tend to do is get there earlyish andget a spot outside the house because you can see down to the first 2nd right hander all the way up the straight and right into the covered bit. you always will get rally cars donutin infront of you formula one cars at full chat doin burnouts and watever so there is a good place. we normally do that for the first run of the day take a walk up through bowlers and watch rallying and then take a stroll through the paddock formula one cars are immense! then walk down to start line where all the cars assemble and see them get off the line
