spoke to someone from round here with an octavia thats remapped and he said hes getting 28mpg on a run and around 24mpg round the town.

We get around the same as you with ours being standard. but im pretty sure they are supposed to be more economical remapped.

The power difference is quite noticeable, most seem to go for the 220/220 mark, which is a good upgrade from standard for a few hundred quid.

where are you thinking of getting it remapped?

had my old 1.8t remapped by stu @ MSD, silly fast for a FWD that was still heavy.

didnt notice any difference in economy, so must be a good thing.

Take it to VAGTECH they are just outside leighton buzzard in bedfordshire.

Trust me these guys really know there onions!!!!

A good mate has a ibiza cupra K5 and its a serious piece of kit, They have done a couple of seriously powerfull TT's and some made 500bhp beetle thing.

Cant rate them enough

a mate of mine had his Cupra R remapped (i cant remember where) but as said above its silly fast for a fwd, and boost comes in pretty quick. but he's driven it like that for quite a while and it has killed the water pump despite not having a very high mileage.

i hope they havent got one of those daft plastic impellared water pumps which VW/audi tend to put in...

Mines been remapped and I get combined of 29mpg constantly and I kane it mostly.

Water pump went at about 55k... easy to spot... Temp guage rises under normal driving but drops when stationary or just driving on tick over.
