Looking for something to give this type of finish (see below) Where can I get it from ?

I had mine powder coated.

Ive used the stuff made by VHT, you have to really chuck it on to get ti to crackle well, aslo is a nightmare to get out the can, keeps blocking the nozzle.

other than buying cant that be done with cling-film or is that a different sort of patten

Its just the flash on the camera mate ...........allt he bits i've had powder coated look the same as the cam cover.

This was the engine last year......i've got the p/s tank, water tank and a swirl pot since
