diesel gearbox into erst,help please

Default diesel gearbox into erst,help please

how easy is this to do,also will the diff from the erst gearbox go into the diesel box,i think ive done sum damage to the gearbox in mine or maybe the clutch but if ive got the box off i might aswell change it if its easy enough to do,any help would b great please

a diesel box will fit straight in with no modifications-same as a fiesta 1.1 box will!

as for swapping diff thats a strip down on the bench job and you'll need a fifth gear puller to remove fifth and separate box.

Stick with an RST box mate the Diesel unit is no tougher.

Contact Bernie at www.gearboxman.co.uk he's cheaper than you may think and his boxes are of excellent standard.

Is the Diesel box geared different to the RS box??

Diesel engines have a much lower RPM limit so surely they are geared higher??

So using a diesel box gives no strength advantages but could give top speed advantages??

do as oranoco says, call bernie i went through 3 std rst boxes at 100 quid each before i got my stg 1 box from bernie they cost 550 quid inc vat plus ur old box in exchange

the diesel box will only cost me £50,plus id prefer the better top speed,will the erst diff go in and if so how hard is it to do,done the thrush bearing aswell and the box whines now,also managed to break both the mounts on the gearbox
